Description

Niku had a good game last night. If he can continue his play, the jets will have a top 4 LD for next season.

Petan has potential. He deserves a chance and could become a driver on Ottawa.

Green is a good prospect with limited potential but with a bit more strength he could become a Kulikov type player

Kovacevic may be ready to step in as soon as next season, however the likelihood of him becoming an NHL player is low.

This was a comparision to the Mcdonagh trade without Namestnikov and Miller (they canceled eachother out at the time of the trade). Brett howden = Petan and Green. Libor Hajek = Johnny Kovacevic. 1st + conditional 2nd + 2 years Mcdonagh = 1st + 2nd + Duchene rental.

Couldn't the same package get a guy with some term left? Seems like way too much for a rental considering the Jets are probably gonna need a center again next season.

I do not think the jets will need a center again. Roslovic will be 3C next year between vesalainen and someone else. By the end of that season he will e 2C between Connor and Laine.
They also do not have the space to get one with term either.

I haven't been impressed by Roslovic since going onto Littles wing, I think it's very important Roslovic develops as a centre this season cause in a couple seasons from this one he'll need to take on the 2C job, the Jets really have almost nothing for depth at center and no real center prospects in the pipeline.

He's getting that powerplay time cause there's injuries to Ehlers,Buff and Myers. He's basically this next player in line for that spot with the injuries they have.
He hasn't progressed very much this season and really struggled against the Ducks, wish they still had Armia, he'd be an excellent winger to put with Roslovic.
