Description

Definitely some hopefully thinking having Hainsey out of the lineup nevermind being traded, but this is armchair GM so oh well.

I think this would really improve the defense. Everyone wants the huge flashy move but getting two guys who can skate, move the puck, and in Vatanen's case PK, would be valuable. This defense is suddenly much more balanced.

In regards to the Detroit trade, I’d rather just keep Jensen.

For Detroit to trade for a veteran defenseman he'd have to be a top 4 defenseman. Now I don't think Jensen is worth that but we have some solid D in GR waiting to get a chance and 3 of them have way more up side than Marincin.

Both incoming players would be excellent additions, but I don't think that Toronto is eager to pay the price for them. Remember that Vatanen was moved for Henrique, who is an analogue for Kadri. And as to Jensen, he's a UFA in the summer, so why not wait to see if we can sign him then?
