For the Oilers to make the playoffs than you'll need all other Western Conference teams to play below .500 hockey for the rest of the year.

Here’s the thing if you’re an Oiler fan, do you want to make the playoffs? It’s fun and all, but that buys the GM another season if not 2. Is potentially another couple years of him making strange moves worth a couple fun weeks of hockey?

Not sure his job is safe even with playoff spot as the West division is fairly weak this year (aka making the team based off there only being 5 good teams in west this year, shouldn't mean he keeps his job) He has made so many questionable and blatantly wrong moves. Everyone in hockey world knows he has destroyed the franchise
