Description
Tried to get some Top line scoring in Duchene and Tarasenko while keeping Domi and Drouin to keep our top 6 speedy/scoring. Traded an average prospect and a 3rd line center as kotkaniemi can take that role over danualt. we Needed to get a good top 4 d man in hamonic. No problem with our defense producing offense so i wanted a shut down d man on the left side with petry. Needed a 4th line C to kill pentalies with experience, Brian Boyle fits the job perefect.

The package for Tarasenko should be more valuable than the one for Duchene. Duchene is going to be UFA, and Senko is under contract for 5 years. Blues will be looking for much more than your offer.

Also I think Calgary paid the Islanders a 1st and two 2nds for Hamonic less than 2 years ago. So they'll definitely want more.

Karl Alzner salary was suppose to be retained 15%. McCarron is a 25th overall pick which hasn't turned out but with a change in scenarios he could turn out. Alzner was a stud shut down d-man in washington but doesnt seem to play like that in MTL. With a second round pick..... I could be dreaming but hey!

I gave more "ready" players to STL because they arent in the rebuilding stage as ottawa is. I gave ottawa a decent prospect, a young 2/3 line defensive center and a 1st (for rebuilding purposes) as STL i gave a top 1/2 left wing scorer, 3/4 line youngster who can crack the 2nd line soon and a 2nd round draft pick. I could've sweated the pot a bit on tarasenko but he is n the block and hasnt being playing to his "All-Star" self as of late.

Travis hamonic has played 112 games with calgary getting 23 points and being a -2 so i believe is value has went down a bit. Also the flames over paid for him at the time.

These are all really lopsided in favor Montreal with no chance at all of being accepted.

Flames even if you retain in Alzner there is still no value there. It’s a 2nd, a bust. and dead weight. They’d be better telling you to keep the rest just give us the 2nd. And he’s worth more than a 2nd.

Blues you start with a 1st and either Suzuki or Poehling or don’t bother.

Sens is the closest. 1st, Danaeult, Fleury might be close. Remove the rest.

Boyle is worth a 3rd Duclair a 2nd, a bunch of stiffs and bad picks won’t cut it

This is the stereotypical “I want something for nothing” post

You are trading roster guys with term for UFAs. Meaning you could be left empty handed July first. Also you can just keep you current roster, wait for july first and add thoses players by overbidding.

And Tarasenko would cost SOOOO much more (at least 2 more 1st rounders).

And Calgary is looking to add talent to win the cup, not make a step back for a 2nd round and garbage. Yes, McCarron is garbage.

Erase and try again.

2015 world juniors him and max domi together were good. Duclair is from quebec so being close to home can give motivation to play.

Did not say he was. Still a high end 2nd pairing type. Worth a 2nd and good prospect. At minimum.

If we are going to play i hope you know....in the description you said you wanted him to be a shutdown left defenseman...i hope you know he is a right defenseman. And a bonus...i hope you know Flames will be buyers not sellers.

Yea i realized that after lmao, but alzner can replace his spot as a top 4 - top 6 defense man if he decides to show up in Calgary, mccaron could considered a bust but has been playing good as of late. A 2nd and a 6th, I could do a 3rd but I dont think hamonic is worth as much as you think as he is, -2 in his two years in calgary.....

Thats the point. +/- is completely driven by what team you play for. Oliver Ekman-Larssen is -89 is for his career. Anton Stralman is +68. Who would you rather have. The only thing that stat is good for is comparing players from same team in same season. Otherwise it is useless. It’s about perpective. Hamonic was -9 last year. TJ Brodie was -16. Giordano was 0.

exactly hamonic is on a solid team and is -2. How do you define a good defensive d-man by stats then?

He is +7 this year. Same as Hanifan.

They had not been a solid team til this year.
