MDZ has been an underachiever for years but he does bring some much needed offensive upside to the table. Given that VAN retained part of his salary, I see this trade as a win for ANA...but we'll see what happens. ANA is clearly in desperation mode.

I'll give Vancouver a bit of an edge with the pick and that I like schenn. Both are turnover machines but I think Vancouver wanted a penalty killer and a guy with lots of grit and they got that with schenn

I posted it first again Sticking Out Tongue

Especially with retained salary, i think Anaheim wins. MDZ as a player is worth more than a 7th.

*WTF Anaheim

I’m amazed that the Canucks got anything for MDZ. Basically got a pick to swap depth defenseman.

Del Zotto was at least playing in the Nhl. Schenn was drafted 5th overall in 2008 and is in the AHL now

Where they were drafted is irrelevant. Either way, I think it’s a win for VAN for getting a pick from swapping two 7-8/AHL defensemen.

Schenn used to be good but now is practically done his career. I mean Del Zotto used to be friends with Meghan Markle for crying out loud

Don’t know what that has to do with anything. My point is that both Schenn and MDZ are both basically done with their careers. I very much doubt either of them are on an NHL roster come October.

Del Zaster was not playing in the NHL. He was sitting in a press box as the 7th or 8th Dman only used in extreme emergencies (Bubonic Plague/Cholera outbreak). At the time of the trade he was behind Gudbranson, Pouliot and Biega. In Schenn, the farm got some help. The 7th rounder is the deciding factor.

Schenn was a hitting machine... with injuries he draws in now. Could be flipped for dead line depth. 5th or 6th round pick and he is yours .
