Kopitar thoughts

Created by: The_Architect
Team: 2018-19 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 17, 2019
Published: Jan. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know that Kopitar and Price would have to waive their NMC clause for this move to happen. With Primeau in the pipeline it would be ideal to take back Quick since his contract is up in 4 yrs after this 1. With Poehling in the pipeline also I'd eventually move Domi to LW whenever/if he makes the team.

Kings are probably heading towards a rebuild here shortly, Doubt they've any interest in Price and this is bad for LA any ways. Quick and Price are probably a wash. And no way does Tatar+Suzuki come close to Kopitar Montreal still needs to add big time here.

You just looking at the immidiate optics of it. LA is looking to re build. Parting with Kopitar and Quick they stay in last place and almost guarantee 1st OAP. Best case scenario they'll have Vilardi, Hughes and Suzuki at C in the future. Tatar is a cap dump on our part his contract is up in 2 yrs.

When LA is **** Quick can't carrey the team. We've seen Price (when on his game) carrey the team on his back and making the playoffs. They're not a wash. Price is superior.

Fine, But LA still doesn't do it. Kopitar is untouchable right now. And no one is taking on Carey Price contract without retention. Especially LA that's probably heading towards a rebuild or retool here shortly.

No one is denying that Price isn't an elite Goaltender because he is, But Quick has won a cup with LA. What has Price done with Montreal? He hasn't won them a cup yet. I rest my case. And Price is just as injury prone as Quick is.

When you are a fast fairly skilled team, the best way to get better is trade for an overpriced pylon who can't keep up with the game at all. Kopitar could be the slowest player in the league.

Ya it was Quick who won single handedly those 2 cups. It couldn't of been Kopitar, Carter, Richards, Williams, Gaborik, Simon Gagne, Doughty and Voynov helping a bit....

You don't have to take my word for it. You can Google actual NHL players which goalie they hate playing against the most. Clearly you haven't seen it all

The only concern I actually had when doing this trade apart from Kopitar waiving his clause

Bottom line dude is that your offer is garbage for Kopitar, If you honestly believe that Kopitar and Price have the same value. Then you don't know value. And yeah winning a cup is a team effort no denying that. But bottom line Quick 2 cups Price 0 cups. Still will take Quick any day of the year.

No they can't, the market shrinks cause of his heavy contract. Then the market shrinks even more cause he could nix a trade if wants. So even "IF LA WANTED" to trade him they wouldn't have as much leverage as you think.

lmao but you're trading carey price with a terrible contract so you're just being stupid. you're proposal is stupid. LA isn't trading Quick for a bigger contract with Price. Kopitar could easily bring back more a prospect and an average player with a big contract

I just want to confirm, you're stating that Price is an average player?
