Leafs add for sure, maybe a 1st.
Nylander is basically a cap dump at this point

We don't want that Nylander contract. Lower point per game than Lucic and makes almost a million more...no thanks.

Anything else back would be pretty nice, I gotta believe the leafs are entering a world of hurt for next years salary cap. Matthews will want $12+ and I have a hard time believing Marner doesn't ask for less than $10.

He's 22 years old and has two 60+ point seasons. I don't think I'd be comparing him to Lucic. 0.7ppg at 22 years old is quite good. I think I'd be looking at more than just the past two months.

If you are trolling, bravo.....if you are being serious, Lucic and Nylander are not even on the same planet as players. Lucic can barely get from one end of the ice to another. EDM would likely trade Lucic for a bag of old pucks if they could.

So out of curiosity, is this just a troll response? Or does a slow start after missing the first third of a season, totally erase what a player has done before?

Its becoming clear that Chiarelli and Company aren't terrible at their jobs, they just do what their fan base wants them too. Enjoy wasting one of the greatest players to ever play the game. McDavid is going to demand a trade within 2 seasons at this rate.

No it does not erase what the last two season were like, but a cap hit of almost 7 million does have teams want to see the old Nylander. They are not trading what they know they have right now for what might be in the future and taking on that cap hit. If he was making 1/2 that it would be different, but in the world of salary caps, teams are much more scared to make a move like this.

People are going crazy these days. It seems the general public, forgets everything from the near past and blind themselves to the future and then base all of their opinions on extremely small time stamps. Which if you are talking about running any sort of organization, is the dumbest way to make decisions.

Nylander is a 22 year top end talent (that doesn't mean he's a generational talent but a top line player), with 2 60 point seasons under his belt in his 1st two complete seasons. He's a terrific playmaker and a possession monster and also really fast.

Nurse is a 23 year old defenceman with 1 full season under his belt and a career high of 26 points (he will beat that this season). The book on him is that he's improving and looks like a solid middle pair defenceman.

You can justify your thoughts anyway you'd like but the reality is one of these players has shown way more promise, skill and results. That player isn't named Nurse.

Totally agree but I would think Toronto would move Nylander on the right deal. I think Nurse would be pretty happy playing for the Leafs and could be in their top 4 for the next decade. Nylander is probably the better hockey player but the defense needs to get better in Toronto.

I thought you'd figure it out easily but yes the Lucic part was a joke. But Nylander's contract is terrible nonetheless and EDM already has a plethora of that. And saying McDavid will request a trade is as stupid as saying Arizona will offer sheet Matthews. Stuff only fans of other teams who are miles up their own ass will say.

The offer sheet talks always boggle my mind. People realize the player have to actually sign them right? It's basically like them publicly declaring they no longer wish to play for their current team.

Same with hiring coaches. Fans get mad when their team doesn't hire the best coach available, but somehow forget the coach is a human being and has a choice?
