First don't read posts from your fellow Ranger fans, it may elevate the value of your Ranger playerssmile
What's with that Zuccharello trade. Kings aren't going to risk a top 5 pick for THAT package. Zuccharello MIGHT have value to team that is a Cup contender....but no one else. (Yes I know you added other players in your original trade.

Tip one: when making a trade, underrate your own players and overate everyone else's as a starting point, then tweak from there. Much easier then doing it the other way around.
Tip two: make sure the players/picks/prospects you give up would actually have value to the receiving team. For example, It would be tough to convince Toronto to take a 2C, even though they may be very good.
Tip three: Make sure the players/picks/prospects are guys the other team is actually willing to give up for the return. It would be tough to convince Toronto to move Marner, no matter the return as an example.
Tip four: If you find yourself trading a bunch of mid round picks (3-7) in one trade; chances are it is a chel trade, so don' do it. Ex: Dont: two 2nds, three 3rds and a B prospect. Do: 1st, 2nd, B+ prospect
Tip five: Expect a 1 star rating and for everyone else to say "typical Leafs fan" if they are involved in any way, no matter how small.

Stop right now. Watch hockey first a couple years before trying to make trades. Joel Ward’s not worth 1M and Scandella worth a 3rd pick maximum

understand that other teams have the same 79.5m cap
trading ntc or nmc may be difficult or even impossible

Of course not too soon. Absolutely nothing wrong with your approach....plus you’re inviting constructive feedback so you can learn....that’s a lot more than I can say for a lot of posters on here.

Keep inviting comments, you’ll find out soon enough who’s just on here to troll and who you can get good conversations out of.

My 2 cents:
1. Less is more sometimes. You don’t often see a team pull off more than 3 deals in a season so if you post higher than suggested 4 trades it looks a bit too dramatic or unrealistic.

2. Can put either the names of the players you’re trading for or the teams you’re trading with in your team name. That way fans of those players/teams are more likely to check out your deals and give their comments.

3. Keep doing what you’re doing...combined with #2 above, if you invite feedback and ask fans from those teams to comment on value, you can often get a great conversation going.

4. Ignore the trolls and brush off the know-it-all’s. Unless we’re talking rules or CBA, nobody can tell you they’re right and you’re wrong. We’re all pretty much here to share opinions

Have fun and keep at it.

As for your trades here:
- zucc and Namestnikov can likely land you the first and maybe a bit more. But not from LAK unless it’s the offseason or the pick is protected.

- if you like ho-sang, maybe one of the pieces from the trade above can be used to get him from the island

- I don’t see Montreal looking to be sellers yet so not sure they’d look to deal Tatar for parts

- Shattenkirk might be too risky an add for a team on the upswing like Buffalo but the value of the trade isn’t terrible

Now do both of you think that Buffalo trade is fair? TBH as a Sabres fan I would love to have Shattenkirk, I must be wrong because so many other think it would be bad for Buffalo, but IMO he is at least equal to Ristolainen if not better. Moving Scandella for Shattenkirk also helps Buffalo's LHD v RHD balance. TBH, I would think Buffalo would need to add to Scandella to get Shattenkirk.

I guess it depends on how motivated the Rangers are to move his contract. From my point of view (and I don't watch either guy play regularly), Buffalo has a safe, reliable d-man in Scandella. Doesn't do anything special but doesn't get caught making too many mistakes either. A solid middle-pairing d-man who's valued just about right at $4m...and only 1yr left on his deal.

At 6.65m and 2 more years, Shattenkirk is not grossly overpaid...but obviously hasn't been the d-man most people envisioned after that last season in St. Louis. I don't think he's anywhere near needing to be a cap dump...especially given there's only 2yrs left on the deal..but there might not be a line up of teams willing to take that full figure on given his play over the last couple years. So...at his best, he's way better than Scandella...but at his current average, he's overpaid....either way it makes sense why some people in Buffalo would support the trade and others would prefer to look elsewhere.
