GmJR - MUST DO

Created by: Sidstick87
Team: 2018-19 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 16, 2019
Published: Jan. 17, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- Add Ferland gives us someone with size (and actually uses it) - IMO he is a perfect fit with 59 and 87.

- Faksa - the perfect 3rd line Center. Plus another guy that plays with some edge, but skilled enough to play with Kessel if needed.

- Muzzin - always loved the dudes game and a top 4 pairing of ... Dumo - Tanger / Muzzin - Schultz is what is needed to match up against a Toronto or TB.

- Hags get back , well I think we kno he is the reason 81 and 71 could play together... and really I mite cry if CBJ or WSH get him at deadline.

Would be great additions for the Pens but I can't see Carolina, Dallas or LA making those trades.

That LA trade wouldn’t be allowed to go through. We traded him to LA retaining salary this season. They can’t trade him back to us retaining salary

yeah I was wondering about that when reading it, seemed odd. Could address cap concerns by having them retaining on Muzzin instead(if they were gonna do the deal the exact same otherwise).

We really wouldnt need to ... bc his remaining real cap hit would only be like $1.5M at deadline

I like Ferland, but after signing DeSmith we wouldn't target a goalie. Also, I doubt they are looking for a Hagelin reunion already. I would shoot for Pietrangelo/Tarasenko from STL for a huge splash.

I'm not sure why we need hagelin back. Been doing well without him and the PK has been doing great. But the Kings are gonna want a big ransom for Muzzin and I don't see Oleksiak and a first cutting it.
I don't think carolina does a 1 for 1 with ferland and brassard.
Faska deal is actually think is in Dallas's favor and he is the flavor of the month for Pens fans.

I had Jarry going in the Carolina deal originally and then changed it.... I was getting Cambell as our 3rd goalie but forgot i changed the Carolina deal
