Did I miss the memo on Nick Bjugstad becoming a perennial all-star? Damn that's a step price tag.

Massive overpay for Bjustad. Oilers 2 top forward prospects, a 1st and a 2nd for a decent 3rd line center? Really? I’d imagine Burakovsky for a 2nd and Khaira is a lot. I’d consider it just for the pick though.

Same thing for Crouse. He hasn’t done a thing in the NHL. I think the Oilers should look into them. Benson is one of the Oilers better prospects, but I guess included Spooner who has negative value probably evens it out.

Considering when Crouse was still a younger prospect he was a throw-in with the Bolland dump for a 2nd and a 3rd, I'd imagine that Spooner is more than enough for Crouse today. He's got less value than Puljujarvi does today; anything beyond Spooner is an egregious overpay.

Edmonton should have zero interest in a prospect like Ryan Lindgren - all three of Lagesson, Samorukov, and Kemp play a very similar style of game, but will come in with cheaper ELCs and higher ceilings - and due to NYR still being in rebuild mode, I highly doubt that they're in the market to move picks. The NYI 3rd and Puljujarvi may be enough to acquire Zuccarello, but I'd personally be furious with management if they chose to use Puljujarvi to acquire a rental, even if it meant dumping Manning.

The Burakovsky trade is good.

Us oiler fans are not used to having ahl talent.. so let's give it away .. or the nice prospects who do well. Why wasn't makismov in any of these deals ?

I don't think oilers will be giving up makismov . I wouldn't trade him anyways with the way he's come in his development. Good signs, diamonds in the rough are hard to come by for Oilers when the only thing they could do was draft in the first round... And they couldn't even get that right

I think Burakovsky for Khaira and a second seems like it could be fair. Burakovsky is a better top six fit, and Khaira works better on a checking line, but once Burakovsky goes from playing with Eller back to McDavid, his value should go up. I'm sure it depends on all these other trades in terms of cap space.

If they fall through, maybe the Caps could find a little ice time for Petrovic or Rieder?
