I like the Muzzin trade but too much for Gudas imo.

I thought the same, but I think Holl may be included to balance the roster and cap space.

I would suspect LA can do better for Muzzin.

Why do people think Justin Holl has any trade value? He turns 27 next week and has played 4 career NHL games.

I would probably pay more for Muzzin if push came to shove, but Bracco has been spectacular with the Marlies this year and is really looking like he'll be a player.

As for Holl I don't think he has trade value. Purely is in the deal for roster reasons and that he could step in at RD3 if Philly needs him to (if Myers isn't ready). Was pretty much a throw in.

AHL success isn't exactly a precursor for NHL success. Otherwise AHL stalwarts Luke Adam, Nathan Gerbe and Tim Kennedy, all AHL rookies of the year, would be anchoring a great Sabres team.

You are right but he looked really good in preseason too. Certainly nhl ready. But then you look at our RW depth lol. He is an awesome playmaker with great vision. Things that will serve him well at the nhl level.

If I could sign he and grundstrom to 5 year extensions before next season I would trade nylander for a Dman and Mathews would centre the two of these guys and the points would pile up.

Sure, but you could say the same for every prospect that is in junior, the AHL, Europe, etc. The AHL is what we have to work with for Bracco and he's performing exceptionally well compared to his peers. He's only 21. Shaping up as one of the better prospects in the Leafs system right now.

So this doesn’t work for our cap at all. I don’t mind the addition of Gudas other than some poor decisions but I think you need to find a way to get salary retained. Which if done at TDL would only be for 1 season so it wouldn’t cost much.

Think you need to bail on the muzzin idea though. Would be too much to give up for a player we don’t need.
