*IF* the Leafs ever dealt Kappy, Johnsson, a 1st and a 2nd in a deal, you can bet the return would be a defender better than Ghost

Leafs can't afford to do that.

And they lose that trade.

My question was to Leaf fans but ok, I will see if I can explain the thought process. Leafs have to resign Mathews, Marner, Lindholm, Kapanen,, Johnsson, and a few other defensemen next year. They may lose these guys for nothing , so adding Ghost and Gudas at a relatively good salary may work for them.

What would make the trade fair? I am not good at putting these deals together.

Also IF leafs want to deal with Philly.. Myers and Konecny are two players they are going after not Gudas.

BTW.. I stole this trade from one of the Maples fans and added Gudas. This was the trade they proposed.

I'm confused is it a good deal for the Leafs(I am a Flyer fan) or would they lose this trade as mentioned earlier.

I think the Flyers lose this trade. They give up quality assets (Ghost, Simmonds, Gudas and former 1st rounder in Rubstov) and sure, they do get back some quality themselves, but I'm not high on Johnsson, Kappy looks good, the first is always solid. But with the Flyers having to take back Zaitsev's awful contract it's a clear loss. Plus their D core is just crippled by this trade.

Thanks for the feedback. So could we do a deal that would get us Kapanen and Johnsson? Remember we still would have Provorov, Sanheim, and Myers on defense. Toronto has to give up some contract because of all the kids they have to resign over the summer.

You could potentially do like Gudas (retained) and Simmonds for Johnsson and maybe another piece like Tymashov.
