Edmonton doesn't want to get rid of puljujarvi unless it's an overpayment. They'd rather be patient with him, and that might be the best decision PC's ever made

From a Caps fan perspective, Burakovsky with a broken wrist is outscoring Puljujarvi with no publicized injury this year. There's your overpayment. With the Caps out of first in their division, I no longer think they should do this right now, but if Edmonton misses the playoffs and Burakovsky has another great postseason, then 5 by all means, let's discuss this again in June, for cap reasons. smile

As much as I love Kuzy, this is the right non-emotional decision to make if we have the option. Also that Edmonton deal I’d say is very fair.

The thing is though that Seguin has one year left on his contract and he's a UFA, while Kuzy is locked up long term. If this happened Seguin could be gone by the end of the year.

Seguin signed a massive extension already worth 9.85m per year for 8 years
