Fair deal. Vegas gets a contract slot (which are valuable) and a pick that's 30-45 positions higher. Wild take a flyer on a 6/7 d-man.

Not sure why so many people picked Minnesota to win this. Vegas gets a better pick in exchange for a 7th defensemen who was going to walk on July 1st.

You're right, Vegas did get value. But Minnesota got cheap depth who can play anywhere in the bottom four. In a sheltered role with Vegas, Hunt has been excellent. Plus, moving down between the fifth and sixth rounds is a statistically small difference.

Both teams got something, I just think Minnesota got more bang for their buck. Vegas was in a weak negotiating position.

I feel Minnesota could get the same quality of a defensemen on waivers. Vegas gained something where there was not really much value. It's a nothing trade regardless.

While VGK loses the deal, MIN doesn't exactly win it, as this move blocks Louie Belpedio.

Man this deal makes Chiarelli look stupid.

But then, I guess he already did.
