I mean, Perry has a NMC, and it's not like he's a)being trashed by the team, or b) trashing the team, so I really don't see why he'd consider waiving it? So-Cal to Philly? nahhh.

Not only that though, right now and for the remainder of the contract, i'd rather have Voracek. Perry will be 34 by the time he is healthy again. If you think he still has 30 goals seasons in him, I don't think your seeing where the NHL is going. Voracek is overpaid but for the most part he is still a pretty darn good player. Guy 1/2 year removed from a 85 point season ffs.....

For sure.

As a Ducks fan, I've resigned myself to the fact that we'll have Perry/Kesler through the end of their contracts. While not ideal, if you look at the current team payroll structure, it's not the end of the world. A lot of really good contracts on that team keeping the younger core (Kase, Montour, Lindholm, Henrique, Rakell, Gibby, etc.), together through both of those deals.

Not a lot of flexibility when it comes to upgrading the team, but, if they're healthy (Which they definitely haven't been this year), they are a playoff team that would be tough to play against. Unfortunately they've been torn apart by injuries all year and just haven't been able to stay as competitive as they should be. I could also see one of Kesler/Perry spending the last year of their contract on LTIR, as they're both pretty beaten up at this point of their careers.
JPM liked this.

Funny thing is I’m a Flyers fan and would rather have Perry than Voracek but of course I think Kase is really good too. You all are probably right that Perry wouldn’t do it but damn I would like to see it.

Fair enough but that's simply $$ talking. Kase is a good player no doubt but right now, there is no denying Voracek is the better player.

You forget so quickly how good he was last year and in previous years. He's having a down year but then again just about everyone on the Flyers is. You have to take the good with the bad and he has had more good than bad.

No I remember how Voracek is and the fact is he’s usually a minus player that turns the puck over way too much. Kase is an up and comer with I think more upside. When the money side is the Flyers will end up paying more for Perry and Kassel, especially when considering both are injured so neither one is going to contribute much this season. I’ve been a propeonent for trading Voracek since the season after he signed this huge deal.
