That is way too much to give up for an offensive Dmen who can't provide offensively with a stacked team. A first, Lehkonen and Juulsen is more realistic. Poehling will be an awesome 2C in the NHL

I think we overrate Poehling. Has never played more than a 36 game season, and projects to be a 3C at best. A great world juniors doesn't change what he is. Griffin Reinhart also had a great worlds once...

The roster player could be Lekhonen, Juulsen or Mete, sure. I figured Mete would become expendible given that Gost is the same type of player (except he can shoot).

I'd rather spend that kind of players and picks for a guy like Lindholm. He is reliable and can provide. He'd be awesome on Weber's left side

Not a bad offer but Flyers say no. Wouldn't be smart to trade Ghost while his value is low.

I'd agree, but I doubt Calgary is selling. Gostisbehere is on the outs in Philly; benched at one point and threatened to be scratched. His value is at his lowest (as the other poster pointed out).

I see. Not too familiar with his play style. I figured Gost fits well because he's a fast puck mover with offensive upside that would pair well with Shea. He'll put up at least 40 points a season for you.

Lindholm is bigger which is nice. Either way, I'm not opposed to giving up Poehling as part of a package for a #1 LD.

Habs would not do this deal. poehling and the first are off limits, Bergevin said it.

1. He said he won't jeopardize the future for a quick fix. Ghost is under contract until 2023. It would be a hockey trade, not a rental.

2. He said he wasn't shopping PK Subban

It's not about overrating. We know he's not a projected 1C... He's turning into a high end 3C, low end 2C that plays a huge 200-foot game.. so essentially, a more up-side version of Danault. This is a very valuable asset. Other than KK, he's our most ready C prospect, and Suzuki will end up playing RW in the NHL while Domi should probably move back to the wing.

Don't get me wrong, I love Gostisbehere, and would gladly welcome a way to put him into a Habs shirt and although your trade proposal makes sense based on value, I don't think the Habs are ready or should give up that amount futures for him. We could find someone at a slightly lower tier than him for cheaper.

But again, your value was pretty well done. I'm sure other teams can offer a similar package to get this done.

Everyone overrates their mid tier prospects. His skating isn't great. Thats a red flag, and classic on a guy who does well below the NHL but doesn't do well in the NHL. He could do well and that is always the benefit with prospects, but he is far from blue chip.
