SO Philly gives Simmonds for a late 1st? Petersson is a 25 yr old AHLer and a late 4th, offer nothing to that deal.

Philly is deep in forward prospects and young defensemen, but probably could use a versatile veteran. I cant see Nashville moving a starting NHL dman, which makes a solid forward probably Phillys next desire, which Nashville has.

Jarnkrot and the 1st for Simmonds and a bit more (goalie prospect Sandstrom or forward Strome) probably closer to a value for value deal.

I get really confused as to why a solid two way top six winger that is a rental can get such a high return. Look what Stastny got. He was a high end 2C and got a late first and a B level unsigned prospect. That Nashville trade mentioned in the ACGM team is the max somebody should give for him. Nashville is great defensively. Trade less than that and get Dzingel or even Ferland.

Yes, but not at that price. Try just a first. And maybe a mid to late pick.

Maybe, but then you can look at the Hanzal deal too. Depends if its a sellers or its a buyers market, its also the intangibles that Simmonds has that makes his price high, there are very few power forwards who have his hands.

For Nashville and the Jets they have the defense to get the puck on net, but a big body in front of the net makes a big difference.
