Yeah... Dubas shot down trading Sandin, and prolly for that price never speaks to you again. Same with TBL, and probably same with Anaheim, I have no clue at this point with them. I think that Avalanche deal is a in the fair-slight overpay range. It gives both teams what they want. Maybe if you through in Neuvirth and like a 2020 3rd it would work

Why would you waste Simmonds return and a 2nd to bring in Varlomov, when hes going to be a free agent and philly is already out this year.

Why is a goalie needed? I think Hart has shown he is more than capable of being the lead guy and doesn't need to be mentored on how to be a pro as he is mature beyond his years.

He is not ready yet. They need someone who can keep the seat warm.

True. But he can't handle it as the clear-cut whereas Semyon is proven, Hart has played, what, 15 games?

So what if he has played 15 games. He played 63 last year in the WHL.

Last time I checked a WHL game was 60 minutes, just like the NHL.

But the WHL is not nearly as hard and last time I checked the NHL is the best league in the world, not the WHL.

Why wouldn't you go after someone like Cam Talbot? Colorado is not gonna trade Varlamov because if one of their goalies gets hot again they will be back in the playoff mix. If Hart is going to be the guy at some point next season, trade as few assets as possible to keep the seat warm until he is fully ready.

So what if the NHL is harder? What proof do you have that he couldn't play 50-60 games?

Then you really "don't get it". Flyers are riding out the season, missing the playoffs. They certainly need a upcoming UFA goalie. Why would the Leafs trade their best prospect for a Philly's backup? As Hedman said these trades are so bad.
