After a week after Peter Chiarelli has been fired...
The oilers hire Steve Yzerermen (if he is still available)
Stevey boy here will make afew minor trades to help the oilers make a push to the playoffs without making big o trades, other then the russle and talbot type...

At the draft with the 23rd pick the oilers draft out of order Defenseman from the Edmonton Oil Kings.. Matthew Robertson, and in the secound round they draft Goaltender Hunter Jones from the Peterborough of the OHL, he is putting outstanding #'s!

Toronto sorta needs better D, and Russle is there man! Zaitsev who had a great year on 16/17? And hasn't put the many pts since then, but edm needs a RH dudd on the 2nd pair for nurse... both on same contracts since TOR will retain 500k but Zaitsev has 2 more years

Montreal says no and Zaistev is definitely not an upgrade from Russell. He’s basically lucic playing defence on a slightly better contract.

You know a team is in a dire situation when Russell's contract can be described as 'slightly better' that a teammates... Ouch. If all the Oilers did between now and next season was remove Lucic and Russell plus half their cap hit in order to call up some prospects it'd be a huge success...

Don't know why Arizona would trade a dependable goalie for a worse goalie on a worse contract. Russel for Zaitsev is a good comparison. Think the Oilers would rather have shorter term expiring contract in Russel that Zaitsev.
Stevie Y as a GM as Edmonton? You might as well hope Wayne Gretzky resigns as a player and scores 150 points a year.

Zaitsev is better than Russell in every way. That is a step backwards for TO.

CJ was Spooners coach in Boston and Spooner came out after CJ was fired and said they didn't get along. Lol nice try at being a smartass though
