I could actually see something like this happening. Might depend if St.Louis falls out of the playoffs though and is willing to sell again

exactly. Tampa needs to make a move to one up toronto. Palat, foote and a 1st is a lot, but they might be willing to pay the price

But Palat doesn't waive his NTC in all likelihood.

I think Tampa still has Toronto beat for depth, but they've been rumoured to be looking for a top 4 RHD for awhile now. Retaining helps, and it adds value to get more return for St.Louis. It would probably start with Foote and a 1st, then 1 of Ondrej Palat, Tyler Johnson, J.T Miller, Alex Killorn, Yanni Gourde, or Ryan Callahan going the other way for cap reasons. I don't see Callahan being an option since he's a bottom 6 guy at best. Gourde just signed an extension so they'd probably wanna keep him around. Killorn is overpaid and probably not enticing enough but he's a physical presence that Tampa would wanna keep for playoffs. So it's basically down to Johnson, Palat or Miller. Johnson has more term so I doubt it'd be him but he's still good. Miller is a great two way player and might be too much for Tampa to throw in, and Palat has the least amount of term and highest cap hit so that makes sense. He's still good and can be a top 6 forward. So value wise it's pretty good

Hedman - Pietrangelo
McDonagh - Stralman
Sergachev - Girardi

That would be unfair. Glad you think its fair value

I would rather see Foote, a guy like Johnson, or Gourde and a 1st. It's kind of hard to justify getting Palat when we have a 1LW and a 2LW in Schwartz and Perron.

Think Palat's mostly played as a RW this season, with Stammer as a C and Gourde as LW.

Between Palat and Perron, one can play LW one can play RW
