Don’t want and certainly don’t need Russell. Used 12 dmen this year due to injuries and still have given up the fewest goals in the league. Plenty deep. They already have to scratch Moore/Grizz each night.

Sens decline.

Ladd has full NTC. Chuk has NMC. They are not going to EDM.

I would love a day when Lucic is not in NHL but with Islanders on the top and Ladd with ntc I dont think he will be willing to move to a team that is outside of playoffs.

Lamoriello (out of respect to his brother) politely declines Gretzky’s offer.

As everyone knows by now the Islanders have given up the fewest goals in the league this year , so why would they give up their 2nd Pair RHD and take on Lucic under any circumstances.

Ladd is overpaid but still a decent NHL 3rd liner when healthy.

Not to mention Boychuck has a full NMC and Ladd a full NTC.

There is zero chance of either of those 2 waiving to go to the Oilers at this time

I love how Ladd is a good third line guy at 5.5 but Lucic wouldn't be at $3. I personally disagree.

The conversation with Ladd is, hey we are going to buy you out so if you want to go back to the island you can

Zero chance of either Ladd or Boychuk waiving for Edmonton, Like it or not Edmonton is stuck with Looch.

We can agree to disagree on Ladd at 5.5 versus Lucic at 3

That still doesn’t address Ladd and Boychuck waiving their rights from the Islanders to the “tire fire” that is currently Edmonton. ( As a long suffering Islander fan I recognize a “tire fire” when I see one.

It also does not address the hole created at second pair RHD with the loss of Boychuck to the Islanders statistically best defense in the league.
