nah Pittsburgh wouldn't consider it, not just because of how good Matthews or Sid is, but much of it is because of what Sid means to the franchise. If you are going by just player value on ice and not the marketing/PR side of it Pittsburgh still says no but its immensely closer, Matthews will probably be demanding a few million per year more than Crosby makes, which would make it really hard to fit under the cap. Plus right now Crosby is still the better player for the short term.
