      I don't think the Leafs match. IMO Marner is not deserving to be paid the second highest player in league. The question is does Marner sign that offer sheet. He probably know the long term value of being Leafs and the cache of being a successful Leafs is a Leaf long benefit. Leafs could certainly sign him for less....but how much less is Marner's tipping point.
      Leaf could take that 9m that allotted for Marner and spend on a good player and they would still have Minni's four first rounders so not all is lost.
      And for sure the Leafs would putting in offer sheets for many of Minni RFA such as Greenberg, Kunin forcing Minni to overpay for future players which might really affect Minni cap in the future.

      I don't like this... Marner is very good but he's not almost $12M good. If he could be a center, it might be different. Four 1st round picks is a lot to give up, even if Marner is one of the best RW's in the league.

      The trades aren't horrible, although I wouldn't give up any more picks if we made an offer sheet like this.
