Trade ideas with OTT LAK STL CBJ

Created by: Acadd
Team: 2018-19 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 31, 2019
Published: Jan. 31, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Do not think or want the NYI to pull any of these off but these are most likely starting points for what each of them would take from Isles stand point.
Isles strength from a trade perspective is their D depth. Besides Boychuk, every NHL D player is young with several depth D men in the system and 2 blue chips a few years away. (Dobson and Wilde) I do think at some point in the next few years they move one of them for something that they need because if they both turnout to be what they are supposed to be, (top 4 caliber) they won't have room for both of them and Pulock.
Trades
1.
NYI
    Panarin, Artemi
    2019 4th round pick
    CBJ
      Dobson, Noah
      2019 1st round pick
      Beauvillier, Anthony
      2.
      NYI
        Stone, Mark
        Gaborik, Marian
(Islanders would rid themselves of Ladd's 5.5 for another 4 years and either buyout Gaborik or bury it on LTIR)
        OTT
          Wahlstrom, Oliver
          Aho, Sebastian
          Ladd, Andrew
          2019 1st round pick
(Ottawa picks up Ladd for 2 reasons... Leadership for young core to develop and money to reach cap floor with a body that is playing)
          3.

Blues probably wouldn't say no, but I will no sense in blues selling if we aren't out of a playoff spot. I like my chances with Tank.

About right for what teams would look for. Tarasenko deal may not even intrigue them. A lot to give up but he's got 5 years left at only 7.5.
                  Don't think LA moves Toffoli.

Other stuff I can live with but that is a ridiculous offer for Tyler Toffoli...

You're probably right. But, if that would be something the Isles feel they would want, that's probably what the Kings would move him for. They don't have to move him now. He makes less than $5M and is only 26. Next year on an expiring contract, I wouldn't come close to offering that.

Toffoli can be had for a 2nd round pick and a prospect. I would say a 2nd and Beauvillier would get it done.

The CBJ trade is interesting but not sure that would be good enough to get Panarin. I would suspect the CBJ would start with Nelson, Dobson or Wahlstrom, and 2019 1st round pick. Likely extra picks if Panarin signs long term.

Damn that's enticing for Tarasenko. What if Ho Sang was taken out, Beauvillier was added and the Blues included a mid tier prospect or someone like Fabbri

All those trades are close except the Toffoli trade. That is a significant overpay to the Kings

Blues don't want (or need) Ho-Sang and his piss poor attitude. We already have Steen's to deal with. I agree: swap H-S with Beauvillier and you have an intriguing offer.

Dobson, Wahlstrom, Sorokin all untouchable in my opinion.

Funny, in the other thread you made it seem like the Blues would have to be offered Wahlstrom, Dobson, Sorokin and 3 1st Round picks to even consider it. LOL. Tarasenko doesn't seem like a guy that can take over a game so the Isles can live without him. If it costs any of these guys, I'm out. Sign Panarin on July 1st and build on RW elsewhere.

Tarasenko drives the puck better than Panarin, but at the same time. Panarin won't re-sign anyway so it wouldn't matter. They aren't paying those for a contract that Panarin wouldn't sign Tarasenko is signed for another 4 Seasons.
