Edmonton doesn't have the prospects it would take to pry Colt55 away from STL. Pulli may be a bust. Maybe not?? Yamamoto is a shrimp. We have waaaaay too many already. The 1st is good. Problem is, the Oilers just don't have anything that moves the needle.

The Muzzin trade will be used as a comp but isn't a good one. Number one, Toronto absolutely stole him from L.A. Secondly, Muzzin is not nearly as good/valuable as Petro, who would yield more in a trade. Thirdly, we're not talking about Pietrangelo; we're dealing with Parayko, who is younger, has a better contract, and is just starting his prime while already being one of the premier RHD. I get that Edmonton and nearly every other team would like him. It just makes no sense for STL to deal him unless they get a lopsided in the Blues favor offer for him. This proposed trade isn't that.

As much as the Oilers need help on defense they need top 6/9 forwards more. Though I guess if you could get Parayko for a package of futures like this they could make another trade for some forwards. Even just one more legitimate top 6 winger would make a huge difference for the Oilers.

Oilers need pretty much everything.
