Based on the predication that Stone signs with Winnipeg. This is definitely a deal I could stomach with the Jets trading Connor.

Connor 30G/70pts for Pesce
Trouba TOP RHD for Necas, Bean, 1st
Perreault OK on the 3rd line and Important faceoff for 3rd

Connor 100times over Necas
And Pesce is better than Trouba but offset with Connor value!
I'll do it if I am Carolina

This is not my post bros... I am just saying that Connor is as untouchable than Pesce but both value are questionnable 1 vs 1.
Necas is a TOP C- Prospect but didn't crack in yet the poor offense Carolina line-up. This today team will be good in 2-3 years but this trade can make them cometitive tomorrow.
ANYWAY Both team won't do it.

But Carolina gets a player who has proven himself who is only two years older...

This is more favourable to Carolina but this would be based on the Jets getting Stone. So kinda add Stone in the deal and it works. This also gives us better cap space with Pesce.

Hat's off for making a Kyle Connor trade that works. Still it's in your interest to sign Laine to an 8 year deal if we have the cap space. There is absolutely no reason to think that his production won't pick back up, and it's best to sign him while we ca still get a sub-10M and maybe even sub-9M long term contract with him.

That would be best...the other thing tho is that Buffs contract is up by then, he still is a RFA...

In this scenario you went out and got us 3 mill of cap space. No reason not to use it, especially if there's a chance it could save us millions of dollars in the longterm.

Its cuz Morrissey needs at least 4M of it next year...Plus Niku, Rosy and Apples....This year we have it in abundance but not for the following years...

Aside from the cap going up, you're also discounting the amount of money in bonuses we have all those guys get off their ELCs. Niku, Rosy, and Apples might get raises in terms of the money they get for showing up, but it won't be that much of raise from what they count against the cap right now.

Part of being a great GM is finding underrated players to have contribute for less money than the value they provide. Josh Morrissey has all the signs of that kind of player. He is a top pairing d-man with a partner who is optically more appealing, and his numbers are good but nothing special for the role he plays. Combine that with the chronic underratedness of defense in the NHL, and Morrissey's long term deal should hopefully be the best slam dunk since signing Ehlers. It is not an exaggeration that Morrissey could be for us what Roman Josi is to Nashville in terms of underrated.

Also because there is no way that Apples and Rosy get long term deals, all we need is to hold out till comes off the book, and Little gets 'Seattled' (you heard it here first)

Haha...yes...The jets will have roughly 10M to spare next year and 4-5M will go to Morrissey and the other players need to eat the rest...Thats why Laine cant get the 9.5/10M yet...

Plus we have good chats regarding these different Jets teams...smile
