I will forge Wild GM Paul Fenton's signature on this deal myself if he doesn't do this!! WAY too much here from Winni!

Lol I thought about that too. Couldn't really think of any player to take from Wild.

Edit: I added the picks to make it even slightly more fair.

Rangers would take that in a heartbeat. Stanley and a 1st would make me happy, as it is. Getting all those extras would be amazing. Honestly don't think the Jets would want to give up that much. Be amazing if they did, though.

Yeah, well the idea was basically Stanley+1st for Hayes and Petan for Claesson, and then if you take Kulikov from the Jets you get Samberg as an addition.

Jets are not looking to mortgage their future at LHD for Claesson; they would like to keep one of Samberg or Stanley. You are overpaying here in the NYR and MIN trades.

Also I do not understand why people on this site continue to propose Claesson in deals. He's a cost controlled, RFA, 3rd pairing LHD. NYR should keep him unless it would give them a return like this, but I do not think this trade would happen.

Trust me, I love the deal. For one year of a Kulikov dump, I would take the added piece. While the Rangers would jump at this, I am just not sure if it would be too rich for the Jets.

I like a trade based around Trouba and Brodin a lot, I think both sides could benefit from this. What are your thoughts on this trade?

Winnipeg Jets
Staal
Coyle (half salary retention: $1,600,000)
Brodin
Eriksson Ek

Minnesota Wild
Trouba
Roslovic
Stanley
WPG 2019 2nd

It's decent. But I don't see Jets moving Roslovic. Especially after yesterday's game laugh

I figured, he's a guy I've had my eye on for a while. With him heating up the past few games (5 goals in 4 games) it's pretty unlikely he's traded. There goes my dream trade of Staal for Roslovic + a pick, lol.

Honestly, if Staal was performing like he did last year with 40+ goals, I'd probably take that trade.

He's on pace for 27 which isn't horrible, but it isn't 40+. Our beat writer just wrote an article a few days ago about Staal who basically said that the fact he wasn't extended this past offseason has had him very worried about being traded. He loves playing in MN, it's been a great fit for him both with playing and for his family. He kinda hinted that it has really affected his game on the ice but he came to the realization that ultimately if he wants to stay here he has to start playing the way he can. He's been awesome the past 5 games (7 points in that span) and has looked a lot like the player he was last year.

If i were the Gm of NY i would ask to swap out Petan and Stanley for Lemieux. Petan would never crack a C spot and Stanley would have a hard time cracking the LD spot since we are deep in both of those positions. Rangers mostly need to add LW and RW and Lemieux could probably fill that role being projected as a 3rd-4th line Winger if he pans out.
