Thoughts:
RE: Beaulieu -
FOR CGY: Flames reportedly were looking for LHD depth towards playoffs; he's an RFA this summer so Flames won't be committed long-term if he doesn't fit in. His age (26), mobility and willingness to play physical warrants a 3rd round next year.
FOR BUF: Although Beaulieu's performance this season has been good, he's a victim of numbers and has been supplanted by rookie Pilut.

RE: Sobotka -
FOR VGK: As depth forward for playoff run, he offers face-off acumen and checking skills. Knights' offense isn't a concern to where Sobotka's lack of production is an issue;
FOR BUF: Although Sabres retain 50% to make the swap for picks more palatable, Buffalo needs more offense from the 2C spot in the interim until Mittelstadt is ready.

RE: Toffoli -
FOR LAK: Clearly heading towards a rebuild and quest to get younger, they get a late 1st rounder and a 25-year old, 2-way checking winger able to help PK - much like Pearson did but at a lower cap hit than Pearson was.
FOR BUF: With 1 year left on term and some Cup experience that Botterill acquired Sheary and Wilson for, as well as Sabres' lack of depth at RW, Toffoli warrants a 1st round pick. Girgensons' role can be replaced by similar players in Wilson and Rodrigues.

RE: Coyle -
FOR MIN: Thompson (21) brings size and goal-scoring talent while Nelson (26) helps the depth for Wild on defense, both at inexpensive cap hits.
FOR BUF: With 1 year left and versatility to play C or W, he fits into the age group and price point Botterill is targeting and allows Mittelstadt some bridge time at 2C.

Huge L in the Minnesota trade. Coyle is worth a 2nd at most. Also is it worth trading 2 million fans and a 1st for Toffoli?
