How about something like this:

Montreal Canadiens
Granlund
Brodin

Minnesota Wild
Gallagher
Juulsen
2019 2nd (condition: the highest 2nd that the Canadiens own for this year's draft)

If you need a sniper, why trade Gallagher? He's on pace for nearly 30 goals. He's no superstar but 30 goals is very good.

pass its a lateral move for the most part but we lose leadership, goals and net front presence.

its like me saying Tatar for Suter , the value's way off despite them producing similar numbers to make it fair picks would have to go MIN way on this one to make it work in the real world .

this isnt like Rask being pushed out by the new owner just like many of his former teammates now succeeding in CGY,BUF and BOS post CAR. this isnt like CAR offering a new owner and his GM a chance to make change without losing anything they cant get out of their emerging youth .

this is a struggling MIN with stale management who pissed away a lot of valuable picks and no dont have any prospects they can trade or picks they can spare . There is no upside for MTL in this deal as we know Gallagher not only performs in a top 6 market but thrives in it as a Star of the People loved by all

To begin with, I can't see MTL wanting to move Gallagher.. he's a great player who plays with heart and grit, he's loved in the locker room, he's a leader and he's on a great contract. No, he isn't doing as well as last year, but is still on pace for 46 points.. IF the Habs wanted to move him though, I can see them wanting a top 4 dman +.

Montreal Canadiens
Maatta
Simon
2019 1st round pick (PIT)

Pittsburgh Penguins
Gallagher
Benn
2019 4th round pick (CGY)

But... Granlund has two 60+ point seasons and is on pace to make that 3 (he was 1 point shy of 70 points in 16/17). Gallagher has never surpassed the 60 point mark. I get the intangibles argument, but Granlund is the better player which in my eyes makes it pretty even. For the record, I can't actually see MTL moving Gallagher since he's the heart of your team, but since this was the premise of the post I made my offer. Also, MN has a new GM. You are very right, Fletcher did piss away a lot of picks leading to our atrocious prospect pool which is why he was fired.

Gallagher for Merkley,Pierre-Oliver and 2nd

MTL gets a similar player to Gallagher who lives infront of the net getting greasy goals by battling , a LD prospect from Laval to develop in Laval so great for our 2nd year franchise , and a 2nd in 2019 getting better today and tomorrow .

ARZ adds soon to be back to back 30 goal scoring spark plug Gallagher to their ever improving team while also re-unite's Gallagher and Chucky . Gallagher's got term at a good cap and is exactly the type of goal scoring net front presence that team is missing today and the heart that could help them with consistency .

both teams win , ARZ doesnt even lose its best LD or Winger prospect to make the deal and doesnt have to move a 1st

there's zero motivation to give up a superior goal scorer for a few assists when we need goal scoring as we have playmakers out the wazoo
you're trying to sell a eskimo ice then wondering why he's not interested

if a player has 60 points and 20 goals and another has 30 goals and 50 points who go you take ?
the logical person goes for the one that can score game winners and actually score as a Proven Clutch Pressure Performer like Gallagher .

Goals matter , Assists are like participation awards for people who couldnt step up and seal the deal so they feel recognized .(an exaggeration to draw Emphasis )

Ghost.

interesting but not sold .

throw in Mathew Strome your former 4th round pick and i'd do it as Ghost is signed until he's 30

you guys would be dangerous with Gallagher and Giroux on top line though

Montreal:

Gallagher
Juulsen - depending on injury - maybe Mete or Brook instead
2019 1st round pick
2020 1st round pick

Winnipeg:

Patrick Laine
Maybe add Kulikov if they want more cap room.

This move gives MTL the high end scoring RW. Winnipeg gets thier value of 4 first round picks that would be the same as an offer sheet, they still get to be cup contenders, they can afford to keep Connor and Trouba, and Gallagher would mould right into that lineup.

i'm a fan of Ghost PP positioning . he's a rare one who can shoot the puck in transition from left to the right side of the ice while he cycles .
after Subban we had Radulov step up but since we've had no one capable of skating that well with the puck . i mean i'd much rather Provorov for youth reasons but honestly if you add in Strome i can honestly part with Gallagher who i love to watch .

Strome's got potential here as CJ will likely bring him right up from junior to play a bottom 6 PK role as Stromes got good positioning and is quick even if he's not fast yet . (something our AHL and NHL coaches keep saying '' we want to be Quick ,not just Fast '' )

Drouin is a bit of a sniper. He's tied for seventh in the 2013 draft class in regular season goals. Want the guy he's tied with, who's 2nd in playoff goals?

Maybe for Gallagher and Benn?
