Created by: SankFeravalli
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 4, 2019
Published: Feb. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Swap of struggling forwards. They are different types players with similar numbers, and can being different looks to their new teams.

Heinen- Age: 23 / Pending RFA / 13 points in 49 games played this year / .448 career points per game
Burakovsky- Age: 23 / Pending RFA / 12 points in 46 games played this year / .443 career points per game

Burakovsky brings more skill to a tough Bruins lineup. He could be a fit on the Krejci-DeBrusk line.
Heinen is a more versatile player than Burakovsky, and brings a good two-way game to a skilled Caps lineup. He could be a good fit on the third line, and could play center if Eller misses time.

Boston has to add to this deal. Although they have the same PPG, Burakovsky has played 150 games more than Heinen during the regular season and 40 games more during the playoffs (and won a cup).

Disagree. Heinen is the better overall player. Offense rate is near equal, but Heinen does things that Burakovsky doesn't even realize is part of the NHL game. Heinen will also probably cost less in cap/salary next year due to Burakovsky's bad last contract. Games played is not relevant. Washington would at least need to add a pick, probably a 3rd.

HUH? How does it even make sense that Boston has to add because Bura has played more games? Playoff and him winning a cup are irrelevant to the equation, especially considering Washington still wins the cup without him. For a simple swap of RFA's I'd say this is pretty close to even.

True, but I don’t necessarily think that makes Burakovsky more valuable. Burakovsky has more career games played because he took a different path to the NHL than Heinen. Burakovsky had roughly the same PPG through his first 140ish games played as Heinen does in his, and Burakovsky has leveled off.
Playoff experience is important, but that’s certainly not something Boston lacks.
Burakovsky is also going to be more expensive to qualify if they don’t agree on an extension before July 1 - although both players have arbitration rights.

I like the idea, but Boston doesn't need another young left-handed forward.

Heinen is better. Bura sucks.
