I think EDM would rather use the 2021 comp buyout to get rid of lucic rather than trade him for that

That is a deal I think the Oilers should definitely consider but they are really high on Nurse so I don’t know if they would pull the trigger

Montreal isn't going to give up a 2nd and Olofsson while taking on the worst contract in the NHL. Nurse simply is not worth that.

I wouldn't do that deal. The point of taking Lucic is to dramatically reduce the cost of any player you'd be getting with him. A 2nd rounder and a player taken in the 2nd round last year is not nothing.

This will depend on if there are any. usually those were only given out when their was a work stoppage. If the NHL and NHLPA come to an agreement before going into a lockout or simply don't include comp buyouts in the new CBA, EDM won't have that luxury. If they do have it then it is a no brainer buy out but I don't think teams can start presuming their will be. Its not a guarantee there will be any.

From what I’ve read, it looks likely that there will in fact be a lockout. But true, nothing is 100% certain

Retired? Price still has a 7 years on his contract! Primeau will be long gone by then. He'll be at the UFA age....

Primeau gonna be 25/26 year old. i see him like the back up goalie 'til the end of Price Contract. He will be 37-38 year old. but that's just a thought.

If Primeau thinks he is good enough to be a starter in the NHL, do you think he'll want to be a backup goalie till he's 25-26 behind a guy like Price? We may not have the option.

That's weird, everything I've seen has been positive. (Probably all for show but regardless positive in the media)

Damn, yeah, didn't even know there was a deadline for anything recently. With that said, there is a lot of speculation in that article. Anyone who thinks the CBA will be signed before the wee hours of the final night before a lockout is being naive. This will go to the final hour regardless if negotiation has been good or bad.

Yeah I agree. Cheers to hoping we avoid another lockout
