Description

How things fit after the Muzzin trade. I tried to maneuver to be able to extend both Muzzin & Dermott, while keeping the skilled roster together. Having Zetterberg's LTIR on the books give further roster flexibility.

Z trade makes no sense. Detroit has no issues paying Zetterberg's contract while on LTIR (or at least the part that isn't covered by insurance), and you're basically asking them to take on a cap dump for nothing.

Wings will happily put him on LTIR and give themselves 6 million in cap space.

The Wings are going into a rebuild and need prospects with upside. Zaitsev is sort of a dump, except he's useful and has term. Bracco is a very skilled prospect with middle-six upside.
I get that Zetterberg's contract is insured, but I'm sure that ownership doesn't want to pay what isn't. It's not like they need the cap space, not for a few years.
