Your 3rd fwd line might have a higher combined salary than a lot of teams 1st lines.

Johnsson isn't getting $2mil after his rookie season, he's gonna bridge around 1.5. Kappy is in the same boat although has played over 100 games but the sample size is too small and he would never get 3mil AAV.

I hope so man. Both are on pace for about 45 points. That's pretty good. Kap and AJ know how important they are to this team, you can't win with guys without them. I'd say pay them as much, for a bridge, as we can while still keeping cap space available.

Oh for sure, I think something that isn't mentioned enough is that Kap and AJ both came up through the system with Dubas, won a calder cup (not kappy), etc. They seem very loyal to Dubas (and the city), he's always given them a great chance to compete so we'll se what happens. We should all be excited that our core is getting locked up not freaking out like so many others about AM only signing for 5 years.
