Trying some stuff

Description
Yes, the trades are a hopeful stretch at best but a boy can dream. (Although I do think Brown would be a great fit for the Oilers and they might be crazy enough to do something like this.)
Gardiner is a piece the Leafs (I didn't say I do) want to bring back, if he's willing to take this deal I think it's what the Leafs can offer.
I can't see Marner making more than what Kucherov makes on any length of a deal. A lot of the depth pieces are interchangeable and I was just trying to see if the numbers work.

I like the Marner signing because it seems that GM Dumass can't ever sign any of his young star players to an even round number.

And he has to over pay by at least half a million.

So Marner will be signed for 9'759'165
    Kapanen for 3'146'500
    Johnsson for 2'683'000
    Sparks for 1'286'210

Edmonton's paying out the nose for Brown; while I support other GMs punishing the Oilers for the mismanagement they've put them through, I can't see Edmonton paying more than a 3rd and a 5th for Brown, especially when a lot of other teams are offering what appears to be a 4th at most.

I also think Edmonton might have some interest in Zaitsev too, but they'd have to be mighty creative regarding the cap in order to pull it off.

I would personally be happy with a 3rd and 5th for Brown if they decided to move him. Personally I’m a big fan of his and would like them to keep him but if he has to go to keep the big boys I’d take whatever they can get. Tying Zaitsev in with Edmonton as well would be good for both teams considering Edmonton would probably have to give less. I agree that shipping them 6M would be almost impossible for them to fit though.
