Well as stated in the trade "could be any team." As for Nylander being traded...I am 100% sure they would trade him before letting Marner go.

RHD are hard to come by. Defensive Defenseman to be exact. RHD are expensive. You can tell with the high price around the league. Parayko costs tons because of his defense. The market on RHD is a buyers market which obviously means not very many good #1 RHD. Makes them more expensive. Carolina understands that. Getting a guy like Nylander their are tons of Nylanders and better than Nylander. Nylander is also on a slump, and also the fact no one wants to pay that bonus at the end of the season to Will Nye. I think we can both agree if there are only a good 12-14 RHD to be in talks for Top Pairing RHD it's going to get pricy. Blues are fortunate to have 2, and Carolina 2, Nashville also 2. Tampa even has a weak RHD side. You can kind of get the picture.

I think Pesce is good but he isn't a #1. He is a top 4 guy and that is what Nylander is worth.

The thing is Pesce is underrated for his Defense. Defensive Defenseman aren't easy to find in the League anymore. Pesce on most teams including Toronto would be a top line pairing with Reilly.

I don’t think teams are drooling over a dman who even though is very good defensively produces little offence. Especially not at the price of Nylander, who the leafs think is going to be a star in the future. The only dman I would trade Nylander for is Parayko.

That is not happening. Blues would want a bunch extra. Parayko is one of a kind. We don't want Nylander either that would have to be Liljegren, 1st, Nylander/kapanen, and another couple small pieces. He is our top line pairing D-man of the future.

Well name most of the RHD that would be higher than him on the pairings.

Pesce's numbers suggest he's one of the best defensive d-men in the league. That being said his 20pt production throughout his NHL and collegiate career will limit what kind of return he can get. IMO, Nylander is too much of a price tag for him.

Tampa's best guy is Stralman, Severson I have to argue that Pesce is better on that one. Arizona I highly doubt. If you count Staal as better. You only named 9 Teams I justified for 2 already so 21 is still most.

We need to move someone...but it doesn't have to be Nylander nor Kapanen. You don't just trade off one of your most valuable pieces under value because you have to make a move.

I'd love to find a way to get Pesce on the leafs...but on a trade that's fair for both sides...otherwise you look further down the depth chart to cast off salaries
