Almost ZERO Chance McAvoy takes that deal. He is getting 7-8m. He might take 5 on a two year deal, but you better believe the Bruins are paying for that after the bridge. 9.5+

Also - Love Marner, but he is not worth 14m. Nobody is worth more than McDavid.

wouldn't a smarter move be to overpay Panarin as a FA and not lose the picks? 10m

What's Backes motivitation to waive to Colorado? Overpaying any player really screw the cap. Bruins would be losing or certainly be paying more for their RFAs as they would offered by the Leafs (for years) or some teams as the Bruins couldn't match

He doesn't have any, and I don't think he would. I am guessing his 8 teams (Minn, STL, MTL, TOR, TBL, DET, CHI, PIT) which basically turns his trade list into Minn or STL - None of those other teams take him. He could have some use to a team, but probably not one on his list and the Bruins would certainly have to eat 50% of his salary and give up something.
