I would keep Larsson if that's all you're getting back. He's the teams only top-4 RHD and probably will be next year too.

As for all the other trades, eat your heart out.

some of these trades absolutely suck. why would tampa trade a second pairing RHD, and a top notch defensive prospect for a second pairing RHD and a 4th

. why would the oilers trade a 24 year old reliable 3rd pairing defensman for a 29 year old ahl defensman

I'd prefer to keep Khaira, i think he will get signed to a cheap contract and still seems to be improving as a player. I don't think I'm interested in the Larsson trade either. After last night I could see the Oilers being sellers at the trade deadline, unfortunately I think we will be trading fringe players for late round picks. I could see the likes of Kassian and Brodziak being traded as well. Something needs to be done to get the cap situation under control and there just aren't many contracts that other teams would be willing to take on. I would probably be willing to shop Nurse and Russell if you think this season is a write off. I think you can get a real asset back for Nurse right now and then you'd left left hoping some of the prospects are ready to step up next season.

Benning is a tire fire on a good day and on a bad day he is a full on dumpster fire. Schenn is a UFA and the Oilers are rid of Benning and it opens a spot for Jones/Bear/Bouchard for next season

Tampa cant afford Stralman next year. They make a sideways move to secure a dman of equal quality but they do have to give something up to entice Edmonton to trade Larrson not to mention they get $333000 in additional cap space.

You clearly don’t watch any oilers games, Benning isn’t bad at all, he’s a fairly consistent 3rd pairing Dman, how can you be such an awful Defensman but yet be a +7 on a weak team? The highest +/- of all Oiler Dmen, watch a game before talking. Stralman for Larsson would be a reasonable deal, wouldn’t make much sense for either teams, but value is fairly similar, $300,000 is very minuscule, not worth trading arguably your best prospect for a similar d-man that you free up only and 300k
