This is the right idea, trading Trouba gives the Jets all the cap savings they need. I also don't think it's necessary to keep Chairot and he'll probably want more then $1.5 anyway. Kulikov's money will get tacked onto what Morrissey is making once Kulikov's contract expires, graduated Niku and Poolman as cheap replacements. Niku and Roslovic's next contracts aren't gonna be huge increases and by the time they are some other big contracts should of expired freeing up money, if the Jets go this route they'll be fine. I don't think the sky will fall if Trouba is traded for futures, they'll carry on fine without him.

Late bloomer Shaw and the development of vaselainen and stanley will also factor, so I’m not overly worried by a possible offer sheet on laine, the way the jets draft I’ll take the 4 firsts

Probably can get more picks and prospects for Trouba, but I guess the return on that trade was not the point, it's all about where the $$$ fit. Nice job.

Ya my thought was 7 overall to 14th ish and extension involved, I don’t believe Florida is the fit, but I figure something is going to get done like the scheinder to jersey for what turned out to be horvat sorta deal a few years back and the jets bargain hunt another dman to fight niku and morrow for ice

Trade Trouba to Florida for Borgstrom and Pysyk, would obviously have to be a sign and trade for that to happen but that'd be a nice and fair return.

Trouba isn't doing a sign and trade, He wants to head to UFA. Jet fans need to get used to it. Florida is looking at adding both Bobrovsky and Panarin. There's no way they can afford Trouba as well.

Thats why I think it’s a trade for a first rounder to a team that wants a year to longterm him and doesn’t want to wait on a prospect development, I just don’t see jets signing him or losing him for nothing and distraction through out the year, kinda the same as Schneider in Vancouver a few years back
