That gets it done for CBJ imo. CBJ can probably retain salary for the rest of the season too. Good trade, go win the cup

As a preds fan, I like this trade. I think you have it on the dot where it would take someone like Fiala + 1st to get Panarin. I am hesitant about dealing Fabbro just because 99% chance Panarin will not resign. Maybe add another prospect instead but overall good stuff!

Panarin won't re-sign immediately, possibly after a Stanley Cup run but an extension wouldn't be signed after the trade.

If we can get Panarin to sign an extension, I like it. Hate to lose Fabbro and Fiala but that's an upgrade that would be huge pushing for the cup and for years to come. Value wise seems like a solid return for a signed Panarin. late 1st, 22 year old winger on pace for 2nd year of 40+ points with alot of room to grow still, and an A defensive prospect.

That's a lot to give up in a rental like Panarin, Don't see him being interested in a long term deal with Nashville. He's been heavily linked with both the Rangers and Panthers and Hawks. That's pretty much 3 1st round picks right there.

huh.

A rental, one of a few that can make a difference in Nashville, and at a price they don't regret if they get to the finals.

Tough call for Columbus. They might need to buy some replacement scoring to make this deal acceptable, and have a real shot in this year's playoffs.

I definitely buy into Panarin and Bobrovsky moving to FLA. That team is going to throw money at them. The more money the panthers lose in the next 3 years the better because they need to break their arena lease.

The earliest Panarin would sign an extension would be this coming summer, If he's not willing to talk extension with Columbus. Then why would he sign an extension with possibly Nashville?

What about the Panarin alternative. What's Mark Stone's price these days?

Would NSH make the same offer for him?

Nashville appears better poised for a cup run? maybe he likes the city better? maybe he likes the team construction better? There's several reasons one might be willing to talk to one team over another. Not saying any of that is true.
