That return has really solid value, Coots is just too valuable to us though. Not to mention he’s on a steal of a contract which is something teams can really use in the salary cap era

Flyers don't move Couturier to Dallas unless the package starts with Heiskanen.

Talk about overvaluing your hometown players....

How many 6'4 centers that put up 70+ points and play a strong defensive game are available? Of those how many are signed to an amazing cap hit like Couturier's? If you want the Flyers to even consider trading Couturier it'd have to be an overpay.

I agree it'd take overpaying. My thought was 2 current roster players, which both included were former 1st rd picks, and both would be under control. Additionally, 1st rd pick this year, and a top prospect, which Robertson is our best fwd prospect in the system. Essentially, to fill our need with the type of player Couturier is, it'd take assets that would address multiple needs for Philly. This offer does that, but with any deal there'd of course be heavy negotiations on value.

It's a strong offer. It's just not enough to entice me to want to move Couturier. I like Robertson and the 2019 1st. I'm not too excited over getting Faksa or Honka.

Former 1st rounders doesn't mean much. Honka isn't worth near his draft value now. Faksa is a 3C.

This is a good offer. But I'd say it leaves a too big hole for PHI roster.

Someone here said Couturier trade starts with Heiskanen. If so, I'd hope the package involved Provorov as well.

People don't seem to understand how good Miro is. There is ZERO chance Dallas moves him.

Looking at Dallas, the only package of just prospects that could land Couturier or even make the Flyers want to move him would be to include Heiskanen. That's in response to the original trade which is not enough to make the Flyers do the deal. Couturier is not getting traded for prospects like he's an A+ UFA player. He's signed for a longer term and is worth a better value meal.

Couturier's good. Nothing to say in that. a TOP20 Center? That's debatable.

But Heiskanen's potentially a TOP5 D in this league in a couple of years. When speaking in value, Couturier is maybe in TOP50, but Heiskanen's probably in TOP20.

I don't know if I would go that far. You have to think of Couts the same way you would think of Bergeron. He isn't quite to that level yet but he is very close.

He's pacing for another 70+ season. He's not as old as Bergeron so he's already there. He also has a better size advantage over Bergeron.

Bergeron is a better player still. You can't say Couts is "there" yet. When Couts wins a Selke, then you can say he is there.

Name 20 centers that are better. Then name how many are available for trade.

Heiskanen is potentially a top 5 defender. A. Couturier is an already is. A 2 time 70+ point player and a Selke Candidate You have to understand the difference.

You do realize that awards are mostly a popularity contest right? Being nominated is enough to say he's there.

Bergeron is a better player and if you don't think so then you are being a huge homer. You don't win 4 Selke's and be nominated every year because of a popularity contest. I can guarantee you that if Canada had to put an Olympic team on the ice right now, Bergeron would be there over Couts.

I never said he was better. He could have won one of Bergeron's Selke's and he still wouldn't be better yet. I did say he was right up there with him which you said as well. You're arguing against your own point.
