1) you're being an asshole. Your trying to make a guys life a living hell to make him want to leave. You are fully in the wrong, will be judged as such by fans/media and most importantly other players. Can't imagine the dressing room will particularly like that. Can't imagine future free agents will look too kindly on that

2) you can make him demand a trade, but who wants him?

3) there are worse ways to make 6 million dollars a year than sitting In a suit with the ?management watching 82 games a year....

Use the Leafs LTIR method. I'm sure the medical staff can find some reason to put him on the LTIR

If he clearly can't crack the top 9 forwards, than everybody around the league will agree with his healthy scratch. No asshole move here, the asshole move would be to force him to play in the minors.

If he gets too out of shape to play from being lazy or fat, than the Oilers can void the contract, it's happened recently before, I have to find the players name (LA with Mike Richards and Tbay with Dotchin).
