Is Doughty really worthy of that spot on the bottom pairing? If it's a super high-stakes game, I'd want as much production out of the back end as possible. Carlson comes to mind as a right-handed alternative, as he's just that much more mobile than Doughty. If you have the forwards playing really tight defence and forcing turnovers, that transition out of the zone becomes all the more important. I'd even prefer Klingberg over Doughty tbh, he's just seemed slow and bad this year and I don't think it's entirely the Kings being sh*t making him look that way.
I'm curious as to how you justify Matthews over MacKinnon, as your rationale for Bergeron is solid. Again, if the future of humanity is on the line, you need to go with the most mobile, best options available. Matthews has value, and is by no means a bad player, but MacKinnon is ahead of him right now, and I think that deserves consideration.
