Just an idea on a trade that would also give some future cap relief. I know it's a right wing for a left but hey from what I hear from Leaf fans on a daily basis... Just an idea...

Doesnt make too much sense unless you want to risk it all for this year and with this acquisition you guys would be on par with tampa offensively but lacking the defence by a lil.

I figure the Leafs are going to have to lose Nylander due to cap reason. My figuring was it would be a trade for picks or prospects. Certainly your trade shows a different thought. Good creativityapplaud

"you guys would be on par with tampa offensively but lacking the defence by a lil." Sorry you are continuing this urban legend. Leafs are nearly identical to Tampa in GAA and shot allowed. Tampa this year leads in goals for by a good margin in the league.

Sorry i am using slang, Let me be more precise with my wording so it doesn't upset you any further. Getting panarin would make leafs having 4 all-star top of the line elite players for the same team and with the addition of muzzin leafs d core has improved. They have also gone 1-1 against each other this season which would indicate that both teams are on par with each other. I'm not a fan of either team just a bystander seeing the addition of panarin possibly increase leafs chances more than the bolts.

It doesn't upset me, but geez I just wish folks could look at facts instead of urban legends.(Leafs defensive record) The other popular legend that never dies is that Arizona has to get to the cap floor. Actually I don't object to the trade at all. It was a new take on Nylander's trade value....kinda creative. Would really help the Leafs faltering PP in all likelihood. Columbus has a decision to make regards their two big UFAs...Panarin and Bobrowsky, do they hold onto them for their playoff run or do they trade them for futures.? Always interesting how a marginally contender plays their hand.

Thanks for the good constructive comments, I'm not a Leafs or Columbus fan, actually a Blackhawks fan. But I am a huge fan of Panarin and the effort he brings. I think that with Panarin the Leafs would have a better chance at the Cup this year, and the benefit to Columbus is obvious a long term highly rated player. Ultimately I see Panarin either heading back to Chicago or to NYI over NYR if he doesn't win a cup. I think that is his overall goal to help a team win a cup, and in turn get his name on it. Maybe he learned something from Hossa! Lol
