If we're gonna sign Myers, let's also pick up Chara just to have the biggest defense in the league. All in all, I like the moves. One of Panarin or Stone has to be signed this summer.

A tenth overall for one year of Pietrangelo? Florida passes, and NTC Pietrangelo might too. Don't think the Flames want Allen any more than the Blues do.

10th overall is what Boston offered up for Shattenkirk in 2015 (allegedly). If that's what Boston was willing to offer, im sure a franchise like the Panthers would considering who they have to compete with. Plus, getting Reimer off the books and retained salary on Petro still leaves room for Panarin and/or Bob.
Calgary would want a backup for Rittich. That one is tough though. I figure with the defense that Calgary has Allen cant get worse.

Myers is mostly to replace the right side of the defensive hole Petro leaves. Don't see Karlsson signing here (especially for less than 10 mil) so I went with Myers. Plus, Myers physicality is something we could use as well.

I like your Meyers and Edler signings. I don't think Stone signs for only five years. Seven at $10 mil does it I think. I agree with the guy above...I doubt Florida trade a top ten pick for Petro straight up. Perhaps a clause in the trade that states if Petro extends with Florida before the draft they give the pick, but if he doesn't, it becomes a 2020 1st round pick or a 2nd and a 3rd??

If it's the number 10 pick they would, plus they are also getting rid of Reimer's salary in the process so that can help with Panarin or Bob. They have young defense already so why not add a top 10 defenseman for guy who probably won't be a top pairing d-man? I think they do it in heartbeat. Florida wants to be able to compete. The only way they do is improve their roster. This trade is only a net gain of $1.5 mil. That's not bad.

I do agree that Stone probably looks for max term though.

I totally support your idea that Florida would jump at a chance to lose Reimer. I think he would be okay as Binnington's backup...can't be worse than Allen. I love your idea at trying to get Gillies away from Calgary. I think he is very solid. If your scenario played out as planned, I love to see the Note draft Byrum, but I think he's gone within the first five picks. He's going to be a good one.

Byram will probably be taken. In which case, Blues take Broberg which I'm okay with. I see a lot of Ekholm in his game if I had to compare him to another Swede. I doubt Calgary trades Gillies, but am hoping that Calgary is tired of waiting. Plus, they have Parsons which makes it easier.
