I'm not sure what you expected when you went out and got players like Calvert.
Even on paper this isn't one of the best teams in the league. It's middle of the pack. Which is where they are.

Good top 9, solid goaltending, average defence.... sounds like a fringe playoff team to me. I get the Avs are on a huge losing streak but no point in firing your coach with 25 games left. At least wait till after the season

The Avs have issues in goaltending and on defense. Until this is fixed they will continue to be no better than middle of the pack.

Its been more goaltending than the D core. Their defence is a goood spot moving forward so it really isn't a worry, It's what to do in Net moving forward and how to building a 2nd and 3rd line bc right now they only fwds that should be coming back to fill those spots are Compher Soderberg and Jost.
