Deadline try 2

Created by: ngikas
Team: 2018-19 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 11, 2019
Published: Feb. 11, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Anaheim trade: Probably no motivation from their side to trade Rakell and I don't know if the value is there or not. Good option for our 3rd line center and also has term left. Idk if Frederic would be a better return in Anaheim's eyes I just thought Lauzon fight the value better than Frederic.

Detroit Trade: Wings have stated that they want a 1st round pick and I added in a lower level prospect with the retainment even though I don't think the Bruins would need retainment after the adjusted cap come the deadline.

Side note: I wouldn't mind trying to improve the left side to get Chara off the first pairing somehow but I don't see it happening.

I've seen that before. Zboril and Chabot were ranked pretty evenly at the time, I don't remember their exact rankings, but It wasn't a horrible pick in the moment. Senyshyn was definitely a reach pick, I think Sweeney just really liked what he saw from him and never thought about trading down to grab him instead of taking the best player available. But you can make these cases for every single draft, players hit and miss all the time. Teams pass on players when they shouldn't. Look at Tom Brady wink

Rakell is as untouchable as it comes for Anaheim lol, especially for that trade.

Have to imagine that a deal for RR is probably starting with McAvoy or DeBrusk

Oh so we are gonna talk about football here, ok then, Brady is a solid QB but without Belichick he is nothing close to what he is now he plays in a QB friendly system where he makes 0 difficult throws as he just has to check it down to James White or throw it over the middle to a WIDE open Edelman while also having absolutely no pressure on him so if he is taken by any other team in that draft maybe he does well but he isn't a 6 time champ while Belichick is still a champ with whoever he puts out there I guarantee you that look at what happens when Brady doesn't play they still win games like when Matt Cassel won 11 games when Brady broke his leg. Hope you learned something from what I said but if you are a Pats fan and think Brady is the GOAT you are probably too far gone by now.

Yeah I didn't think so, I wasn't sure what Anaheim's deal was, they're having one of those seasons where you could see them cleaning house and restarting.

Like im not gonna get into it too much on a hockey website but I can guarantee the Pats wouldn't have 6 titles without Brady. The guys a winner, and hes clutch asf. Its not Bradys fault teams continuously play zone defense against him.

I'm sure they'd like to clean house, but I can't see Rakell being part of it. He's only 25yr old, signed for 3 more years and for only $3.8 million. That's just a great deal for a guy whose shown the ability to put up 30+ goals. I'd love to add Rakell, but I think the Ducks will build around him.

What if it was upped to a guy like Grizz and Frederic instead? Even with a 2nd on top of those two

Not Mcavoy. Debrusk I'd trade straight up for Rakell

Not sure if they'd have much interest in Grz since they already have Folwer and Lindholm on the leftside. Frederic is a nice prospect, but still a huge unknown.

Lol, Rakell worth a lot more than Nyqvist. And unlike Nyqvist there is no incentive to move him. Extremely light in value and zero chance they move him anyway.
