It's gonna cost way more. I would much rather take a chance at him in FA. They want too much for a guy about to become a UFA.

Kostin is way better. I would rather keep all 4 and go after him in the offseason. if not Panarin is also another option. I would save up for Varlamov or Bobrovsky instead as well. We don't need more wingers are team is doing fine right now.

Kyrou was OHL MVP last year. I agree Stone or Panarin should be targeted, but Binnington/Allen is fine for now

I’d tend to agree, but the analytics and record suggest that this team is for real. I see a lot of value in getting Stone for this season because he might put us over the top. Getting him also would allow for more clarity to decide on the Pietrangelo/Schenn decisions.

Not Allen. In particular Allen needs to be traded. His contract is holding us back from making a good signing. I don't see us trading for anyone at TDL in particular unless we are trying to get a better backup. Kyrou was OHL MVP, but he is already 20 Years old, and Kostin was Captain and MVP for WJC so Kostin is developing quicker, and the fact Kyrou is already 20 and you are saying he is MVP well yeah he has 3 years more experience than everyone else in the League.

point is they are both really good. Only one of them can make the top 9 next year. We have ROR, Tarasenko, schenn, schwartz, bozak, perron, thomas, steen and one of kyrou/kostin. unless Steen gets demoted to the 4th line

if we sign Stone i doubt there is cap room to re sign both schenn and pietrangelo. Id rather keep schenn tbh because Petro would get one heck of a return, and Parayko is ready to be our #1 defenseman

That doesn't matter he will waive for Stastny in Vegas. They could use some scoring depth too.

Also the NTC has a certain amount of team no trade list so either way he is going to be traded tbh.

I know stone is a great player, but I would not want him at 10.5 per season. Could you imagine paying someone like Schwartz (using him as an example) 10.5 mil.

I think this team can make it out of the west this year. They’re playing fantastic and winning on the scoreboard and analytically. They’re also doing it with the two best players from last season playing the worst hockey of their careers. If Schwartz and Pietrangelo return to their former levels of play and we add Stone we are contenders. I’m the most pessimistic person about the Blues but I really beleive that.

Honestly the NTC doesn't matter when he will waive for certain teams.

This is confusing to me. Kyrou is only a year older and is a PPG AHL player. Kostin is still struggling a bunch in the AHL. They're both good prospects, but pretending like Kostin has progressed faster is incorrect.

As a Sens-Stone fan, I'll say this is definitely the package that will pry him out of Ottawa with no hesitation.

As a hockey fan, it makes very little sense to trade the farm for 1 player. I understand you have to give to get, but these guys are walking out of Ottawa one way or another. You can easily land these guys (Stone, Duchene, Dzingel) on the open market by offering that type of money. You can then secure more assets by moving Allen, Schenn, Steen Pietrangelo at the draft or before.

I'm hopeful that Ottawa will get a return similar to this, but I won't be surprised that Dorion will settle for half of this.

The entire A team is struggling, Kostin did amazing in WJC.

Yeah I agree the Kostin did amazing in WJC. He's a quality prospect still. Kyrou is definitely our best prospect though. And he's a PPG player right now, not struggling.
