I'm just going to remove the Kovalchuk one since apparently there are others who would gladly pay a decent price for him still. My offer is way less.

I'm in if they are, which I doupt a little. They don't seem to like Schandella but they sure as hell will hate Alzner for the next 3 years :P

Even with Sobotka's 3.5M added? Habs taking on a lot more cap here and are giving Sabres Hudon and some picks to boot.

Maybe... I wouldn't because of the length of Alzner's contract but hey, if they want to... I don't think that Buffalo is in a cap crunch this year or the next so I don't think they mind keeping these 2 contracts but 3 or 4 years down the road, who knows.

Both Scandella and Hudon are worth the same (around a 3rd round pick).

So you ship Sobotka with one year remaining at 3.5M to MTL for a 4th, a 5th and Alzner with 3 years at 3.5M.

That's not nearly enough for buffalo to absorb 10M + of caphit on a 7th defenceman.

Also, both team have a lot of cap space and can just buyout unwanted contracts with loosing any assets.

I think if both Buffalo and Montreal could get a 3rd rounder alone for those guys right now given the circumstances, they'd have done it already to be honest....

Although i'd have to agree with you overall. My hope was that by taking 7.5M for one year as opposed to 4.65 for 3 years, and adding Hudon and picks would be enough for all involved.

The point was that everyone would be getting something they could use. Habs get a Left handed dman with roots in MTL and a 4th line center. Buffalo gets a young p-layer in Hudon, some picks, some cap space but gets a longer term contract (that they could then buyout if they wanted) The buyout cap for Alzner isn't all that bad except for one year.
