There is a good Chance panarin is more than just a rental as chicago would have more than enough money to resign him, Panarin has said he would have intrest in a return, and Chicago has said they have intrest in him coming back

Panarin is quoted saying he wants to test free agency. He's going to at least go through the wine and dine pre-FA courting period. He should be valued as a pure rental. To get him it'd still take quite a haul. I thought I saw the rumor it'd be two 1sts+ at this point? He would change the Blackhawks from fringe playoff contenders to a team at least has a shot to upset a top seed in rd 1. I've been thinking about what if the Blackhawks became buyers at the TDL. They aren't really as good as Flames/Jets/Preds, however they do have Kane on a tear right now. I wonder if they do a few sell (AA, Hayden) trades and then try to do a "buy" trade or two without going after the big names like Panarin, Simmonds, etc.
