If this is the case, I'm not sure what Tallon is doing! Florida is not making the playoffs so why give up assets for these guys who you know want to test the market?

I feel like this isn't fair for CBJ, I'd try to get a prospect on top of that.

Good point, especially since they can get them as free agents this summer.

Well that's why it's plus this is just what the deal is based around with extras.

TBH, as rentals this is a very fair offer.

At today's cap hit, FLA doesn't have enough free space to land both Bob and the Breadman, even after moving out Hubs and Brassard. A few more bodies would have to go for them to sign extensions (today's cap hit is $13.475mm, future hit will be in the $18mm range). Even with the cap next year going to $83mm (if it makes it that high, no guarantee), you still have to factor in extensions for Vatrano, Hawryluk for sure, and probably Malgin. You'll also need another 2 Dman if you don't reup Weegar or McCoshen.

Yes, McGinn, Sheahan, and MacKenzie are gone, Brouwer and Haley too, but those salaries will probably just cover the extensions. FLA will still need about $6mm more dollars out (even after losing Brassard and Hubs) to be able to sign Bread and Bob and the FAs. That's why they are considering trading for them instead of just signing them as FAs. CLB would have to take on more dollars to do an in-season deal.

I feel the same way, but you never know we might see something come out of this where Florida does end up dumping some cap.

I tend to agree with you, but we will see what Florida can do with this.

My name is Paul Theofanous. I support Bob and Bread. Bobrovsky may go to Florida but my boy ARTEMI wants to pick up where he left off with his bromance with Patty Kane.

I will quote you on that, and when it doesn't happen I am going to laugh.

I think you meant to say "represent" not "support"...I don't think an agent would make that mistake.

honestly its not bad. If CBJ knows they're gonna lose them both 100% sure, getting huby is a fine consolation. More value to CBJ tho, add a Florida spec or 2nd rounder and i think its p fair. That is only if the panthers know they will sign. CBJ sells rentals at a premium and florida gives up very little for bringing in stars. Maybe they could have conditions on if they re-sign? Like:

To CBJ: Huberdeau, Brassard, 2019 3rd (EDM), Conditional 2020 1st (If Artemi and Bob sign extentions)

So it would look like: Brass. Huby, 1st, and a 3rd for a superstar winger and a starting goalie. I like the trade for both sides

It looks like a very solid offer if Florida can re-sign them otherwise this would have been all for nothing.

If Jarmo can turn Bob and Bread rentals into Hubes, a 1st, a top prospect and Brassard rental, the FBI might start looking into an extortion case

So to me, this deal if it were true likely has to include Reimer and Pysyk coming back to the Jackets from a cap perspective. So maybe:

Columbus gets:
Huberdeau
Brassard
Pysyk
Reimer
Haapala
2020 1st round pick (conditional) if the Panthers sign both Panarin and Bob

Florida gets:
Panarin
Bobrovsky
Carlsson
2020 2nd round pick

That is what we call a true overpayment for 2 guys who won't re-sign which means you have less ground, and less valuable pieces you are desperate which just means you need to pass with as much value as you can get no one will offer that.

Not really. Because Pysyk is not having a very good season and is only signed one more season after this one. Reimer is simply a cap dump. So really Florida has the advantage.
